Our rescue didn't start with paperwork... It started with a promise
Last summer we stood together and made promises, not only to each other, but to the six dogs who stood beside us.
Every one of them had a story. Every one of them had gray in their muzzle or scars you couldn’t see. Including them in our wedding wasn’t a theme or a novelty, it was simply the most honest way to reflect who we are and what we believe.
Our dogs weren’t guests, they were not accessories, they are family!
The dog-themed favors, the muddy paws, the quiet moments behind the scenes… they weren’t planned for show. They were reminders that love doesn’t arrive perfectly polished. Sometimes it arrives older, slower, and in need of patience.
That belief became Golden Years Haven.
What began as personal rescue grew into a promise: that senior dogs deserve dignity, safety, and a soft place to land, no matter where they come from or how much time they have left.
Why This Matters
When you support Golden Years Haven, you aren’t funding an idea. You’re supporting a life we already live.
Every dog we take in is treated the way ours were treated on that day: with respect, inclusion, and unwavering commitment.
If our wedding taught us anything, it’s this... Love expands when you make room for those who need it most.

Our Best men...Buddy and Cody
Buddy was Heather's soul dog and the only choice to stand beside her. Cody came to during a very sad time in my life. He saved me. There was no other choice for me either.

The Wedding Party
We would have loved to have all of our babies be our best men but for anyone who has these many dogs knows it makes picture taking a bit harder. Our girls, Sophia and Josie wore their tutu's and Mango his tux. Ladybug refused to wear hers. Many thanks to our wonderful dog handlers.
