Meet Cherry

Very soft spoken with a gentle soul

Cherry is about 8 or 9 years. She joined us January 24, 2026. She is the sweetest, most gentle dog I have met in quite some time. She is very food motivated and does not mind letting you know when it's time to eat. She seeks out affection before anything, other than treats. She is great with kids and other animals. We think Cherry would thrive with a family or a someone looking for a walking or travelling companion. She needs a home where she can get the attention she craves in these golden years of her life. She loves walks and is great is on a leash.

If you interested in meeting Cherry, please contact us to setup a meet and greet.

ADOPTED-- JULY 2026

Meet Penelope: Tiny body, enormous heart

Penelope is an 8-year-old, 37-pound pocket pittie searching for her second chance at forever. Her first family loved her deeply, but when her dad entered hospice, they were forced to say goodbye. Through it all, Penelope has remained the sweetest, most loving girl imaginable. She adores people and lives for affection. She's house trained, crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and rides like a champ in the car, although she is afraid of windshield wipers at the moment. Penelope loves squeaky toys, enjoys a good game of fetch, and she can be selective with other dogs and appreciates slow introductions, but what she really wants is a family to call her own and a cozy place to spend her golden years.

Your path to adoption

Adopting a senior dog from Golden Years Haven is a straightforward and rewarding process. We make it easy for you to welcome a loving companion into your home. To get started, simply reach out to us at Golden Years Haven, fill out our foster/adopt form, and schedule a meet-and-greet to come see this beautiful girl! We are eager to help Penelope find her forever home. Our team is here to support you every step of the way, ensuring a smooth transition for both you and your new family member.

The special charm of senior dogs

Senior dogs bring a unique warmth and calm to any home. Penelope is still fairly selective about dogs but is working every day to make friends with the pack. She would be best in a home with no animals, but we always encourage meet and greets, and we are willing to work with you and your pet to see if this sweet girl could work in your home. Senior dogs often come with a lifetime of love to give and are typically past the boisterous puppy stage, making them wonderful, gentle companions. They thrive on comfort, routine, and the unconditional love of a family. Opening your home to a senior dog means offering a precious gift: a peaceful, loving final chapter filled with joy and companionship.
