Find your new best friend
Welcome to Golden Years Haven, where senior dogs find their second chance at love. We believe every dog deserves a loving home, especially in their golden years. Meet our current adoptable dogs and discover the joy of opening your heart to a senior companion.

Meet Penelope: Tiny body, enormous heart
Penelope is an 8-year-old, 37-pound pocket pittie searching for her second chance at forever. Her first family loved her deeply, but when her dad entered hospice, they were forced to say goodbye. Through it all, Penelope has remained the sweetest, most loving girl imaginable. She adores people and lives for affection. She's house trained, crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and rides like a champ in the car, although she is afraid of windshield wipers at the moment. Penelope loves squeaky toys, enjoys a good game of fetch, and she can be selective with other dogs and appreciates slow introductions, but what she really wants is a family to call her own and a cozy place to spend her golden years.

The special charm of senior dogs
Senior dogs bring a unique warmth and calm to any home. Penelope is still fairly selective about dogs but is working every day to make friends with the pack. She would be best in a home with no animals, but we always encourage meet and greets, and we are willing to work with you and your pet to see if this sweet girl could work in your home. Senior dogs often come with a lifetime of love to give and are typically past the boisterous puppy stage, making them wonderful, gentle companions. They thrive on comfort, routine, and the unconditional love of a family. Opening your home to a senior dog means offering a precious gift: a peaceful, loving final chapter filled with joy and companionship.
